Mt Maria College Petrie Year 12 student Linzi is completing a CHC24015 Certificate II in Active volunteering through our Students As Active Volunteers Initiative (SAAVI).

Linzi is a student that approaches volunteering with vigour, excitement and joy.

She has been volunteering her time at Riding for the Disabled Association Queensland (RDAQ) where she assists children with disabilities interact with horses and leads the horses around.

Her favourite horse is Prince, who is large and of chestnut brown colouring.

Volunteering at RDAQ has enabled Linzi to be more patient and confident. She is always eager to help with any jobs the RDAQ ask her to do.

Linzi's teacher, Vikki Moore, said her infectious positivity towards everyone she encounters is uplifting and inspirational. "Linzi always wants to go above and beyond to help others. She currently volunteers her time to assist another student in the school in travel training to a venue."

When she finishes school Linzi would like to work with animals or in child care.

Well done Linzi! Congratulations on being our SAAVI Student of the Term 2, 2016. For her efforts we have rewarded her with an iTunes gift card.
