If you would like to recruit enthusiastic, skilled students for roles ranging from events volunteering through to specialist projects, look no further than the University of Queensland (UQ) Volunteer Expo.
Last year over 1,500 students attended. The event is free to attend for all Australian registered charities and non-profit organisations.
Exhibitors will benefit from engaging with passionate student volunteers who are energetic and want to help them achieve their mission and raise awareness of their cause.
The time exhibitors invest in attending the UQ Volunteer Expo is an investment in the diversity of their volunteer program that will offer long-term return.
It is vital to the community at large to build the next generation of volunteers and it’s a great day out that will help ensure the sustainability of your volunteer program.
The aim of the Expo is to highlight the broad range of volunteering opportunities available and provide students with an opportunity to sign up for a volunteering experience on the day. UQ will provide exhibitors with a booth, 2 chairs, backing board, lunch and an allocated car parking space.

UQ have 60 booths available to organisations. If you haven’t attended a UQ Volunteer Expo before you will need to register as an employer by clicking ‘register’ on the left hand side of this page careerhub.uq.edu.au/employers. This step will then provide you with access to the registration form and to post positions.
The criteria for attendance requires charities and non-profits to have:
- Registration with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission
- Capacity to upload their voluntary positions to UQ Careerhub (careerhub.uq.edu.au)
- Generic volunteer positions and/or degree-related positions available
- Positions available to both domestic and international students
The UQ Volunteer Expo isn’t the only way you can advertise your volunteer roles: all year-round organisations can post their degree-related volunteer roles for free on careerhub.uq.edu.au/employers and through the Volunteering Queensland service.
