World Suicide Prevention Day, 10 September 2017

'Take a Minute, Change a Life' is the theme of the 2017 World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September 2017. The focus of World Suicide Prevention Day is to take a minute to change lives with as many suicide prevention awareness raising events as possible around Australia.

Take the time to check on your family, friends, colleagues and most importantly, yourself. It's all about raising awareness, remembering those lost to suicide and uniting in a commitment to prevent further deaths by suicide. In Australia more than 2,500 people die each year and some 65,000 people attempt suicide each year. As a community it is our responsibility to look out for those individuals who may be vulnerable and offer them support, encourage them to communicate and listen in a non-judgemental way -'Take a Minute, Change a Life' .
