Disability Action Week, 10 - 16 September 2017

Disability Action Week will be held from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 September 2017. The theme this year is ‘Everybody has a role to play’, encouraging everyday Queenslanders to make small changes, be more inclusive and create a more welcoming state for people with disabilities.

The week raises awareness of disability issues, helps create opportunities, improves access and inclusion throughout the wider community; and empowers individuals with a disability. One in five Queenslanders has a disability of some kind. It touches the lives of most families and through further education in the workplace and in the community we can encourage positive change and enrich the lives of those living with a disability.

The ‘Everybody has a role to play’ awareness campaign offers you the opportunity to share your story of Queenslanders with a disability and offer tips for individuals and organisations on how they can be more inclusive.

You can share your story by visiting the website allabilities.qld.gov.au/share-your-story
