Volunteering can fulfil your New Year’s Resolutions

Happy 2019! With the New Year, comes the New Year’s Resolutions – a time to think about your life and how to improve it.

You may have specific goals in mind. Common resolutions include becoming more fit and healthy, meeting new people, developing new skills, improving your career prospects, or doing more to help the community. While “doing volunteer work” may be a New Year’s Resolution in itself, it can also be a means of helping you fulfil your other resolutions.

Research demonstrates that volunteering improves physical and mental health, helps you live longer and improves your career prospects

There are plenty of organisations and volunteer roles to choose from. Our website regularly has between 1,500 and 1,900 volunteering opportunities available throughout Queensland, which you can select from according to your location, interests and availability. You can choose roles where you join a team on an ongoing basis or roles where you just help out for short term projects and events. There are even roles where you can bring your kids along!
