Queensland Volunteering Awards 2022 - closing date for nominations extended

To enable you to honour extraordinary Queenslanders we are extending the closing date for nominations for the Queensland Volunteering Awards to Monday 04 April 2022.

Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with fellow Queenslanders whose lives and livelihoods have been impacted by the South-East Queensland flood event that has devastated so much of our state.

Extreme weather disasters such as these have major repercussions in our communities that are felt immediately and for many months and years and need us all to be there for impacted individuals and communities.

During the past weeks we have seen many thousand acts of kindness and the beauty and spirit of volunteering shine brightly. Across the state immense outpourings of love and support have given hope to those who have and are still working through experiences of loss, pain, exhaustion and trauma.

Volunteers showed up in their thousands to help friends, neighbours, workmates, family, and local businesses and community organisations informally and formally. Thousands more have and continue to donate money, goods and services to help those affected.

As we move from response to recovery from this destructive event, we reflect on the extraordinary, heroic efforts of countless Queenslanders who helped save lives and property, kept our communities connected and are assisting with the massive clean-up, repair and rebuilding of homes and infrastructure.

The 2022 Queensland Volunteering Awards are an opportunity to recognise and thank these selfless, inspiring heroes as well as other volunteers, managers of volunteers and volunteer involving organisations whose exemplary volunteering effort, service and contribution deserves to be acknowledged.

To enable you to honour these extraordinary Queenslanders and Queensland organisations, we are extending the closing date for nominations for the Queensland Volunteering Awards to Monday 04 April 2022.

Nominations are accepted across six categories and celebrate volunteers, managers of volunteers, and impactful volunteer and corporate volunteering programs.

We urge you to nominate now.
