Advice for people who are self-activating to support their local community

 

When you step up to help your local community without the support of a formal organisation, that’s what we call informal volunteering or self-activation.

It could be you helping your neighbour by leaving a note in their letterbox with your contact details. They can then call you when they need assistance with shopping for urgent supplies or a friendly ear for a chat.
