Volunteering Australia, Australia’s volunteering peak body and LBG (London Benchmarking Group), managed by Corporate Citizenship, have launched ‘Corporate Volunteering in Australia: a snapshot’. This paper pulls together data collected through Corporate Citizenship’s LBG framework that has tracked corporate community participation and value in Australia since 2006.
The Settlement Council of Australia (SCoA) and Volunteering Australia have today released their report, ‘Volunteering and Settlement in Australia’, with a snapshot of the volunteering activities of new migrants and refugees in Australia.
In the settlement sector, 65 per cent of new arrivals to Australia volunteered within the first 18 months of their arrival to Australia, to contribute to society, make friends, improve their English or gain local work experience.
During National Volunteer Week, 20-26 May, the 2019 Queensland Volunteering Awards were held to honour the inspiring endeavours of hundreds of volunteers, volunteer managers, volunteer-involving organisations and businesses that invest in employee volunteering programs, to bring about positive change in our community.
We are excited to launch VIRA, (pronounced VEERA) a volunteer management database that allows volunteer-involving organisations to collect important information about their volunteers.
