After an incredibly tumultuous year that was 2020, National Volunteer Week, May 17-23 2021 will celebrate the commendable efforts of volunteers across the sunshine state with the Queensland Volunteering Awards as the premier event of the week.
A year that saw our communities tested to their limits has proven that Queenslanders are not only resilient and selfless, but that they’ll stop at nothing to help their communities to recover, keep going,and flourish.
You only have to look around your community to see the positive effects Queensland Volunteers makeevery day.
The Queensland Volunteering Awards received over 200 nominations statewide across 6 categories:

- Youth Volunteering Award
- Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering Award
- Excellence in Volunteer Management Award
- Volunteering Impact Award
- Corporate Volunteering Award
With too many to list, among themwere - disadvantaged youth learn to drive programs,sea life conservation, cancer treatment patienttransport, surf lifesaving programs, immigrant services; assisting newly arrived community members to integrate and feel welcomed, boxing and other sporting programs allowing young people to become engaged in their communities, and many more.
