2020 Queensland Volunteering Awards These prestigious awards acknowledge the value and vital contribution of volunteering to the well-being of Queensland and its people. Instead of holding the awards ceremony during National Volunteer Week as we normally do, we now plan to hold the event towards the end of the year. Nominations are now closed. Thank you. The awards acknowledge the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, volunteer managers, volunteer-involving organisations and businesses in bringing about positive change within their communities. Awards are presented across six key categories: Volunteer of the Year Award Youth Volunteering Award Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering Award Excellence in Volunteer Management Award Volunteering Impact Award (a volunteer program) Corporate Volunteering Award (an employee volunteering program) Selection panels Selection panels comprising experienced community, government and business leaders will meet around each category to select the 2020 award recipients. The awards ceremony Nominees, finalists and recipients will all be honoured at the 2020 Queensland Volunteering Awards Presentation. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Volunteering Queensland now plans to hold the awards ceremony later in the year on Wednesday 25 November 2020, 10am - 12noon at the Main Auditorium, Brisbane City Hall (dependent on event restrictions being lifted at the time). This ceremony will highlight the stories of those who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to the community through volunteering. Each award recipient will be presented with a beautiful trophy and certificate and will be profiled through an extensive media campaign.
