About this opportunity

During the school terms, the Museum has school groups attending the Museum who learn about history by participating in archaeological digs or mummification.

During the school holidays the Museum offers a series of workshop-based weeks that are based on historical themes, for example Ancient Egypt, the Vikings, Ancient Rome.

You would be assisting with helping the children as well as setting up and packing away for the education programs, e.g. helping with the archaeological dig.

The Abbey Museum provide the necessary training for our education volunteers. We need volunteers who are happy to work with children, have a Blue Card (we can assist), like to share knowledge and engage with children to inspire a love of history and learning.
