Approximately 13,000 boys, girls, and adults in Queensland from various cultural or religious backgrounds and with varying abilities, participate in all aspect of Scouting – an education for life.

The Campsite portfolio is undertaking a period of significant transition and it requires a number of Voluntary Caretakers to be appointed to campsites across the state to proactively identify areas for improvements and help the Property & Campsites Manager generate revenue for Scouts.

These positions are voluntary positions. However successful applicants will receive significantly and heavily discounted rental rate ($1.00 per week) on housing or caravan rental depending on the site.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the site is run with a string customer focus as part of an overall business culture.
• Ensure that the customer adhere to Association and site specific policies, rules and regulations. Where these are not available, to make the campsite manager aware of them and assist in their creation.
• Ensure that the telephone and reception services for the site are maintained outside of office hours.
• Respond to and assist with emergency calls 24 hours per day.
• Ensure that the accommodation, amenities and grounds, entry, office and residence are at all times presented to a high standard of cleanliness with attention to details.

Maintenance:
• Undertake gardening, cleaning, pool maintenance (if applicable), building maintenance or any other work whatsoever upon the property that does not require the services of a skilled tradesperson.
• Use their best endeavours to see that the property is kept in good order and repair and advise the Property and Campsites Manager of any areas requiring attention.
• Regularly each day inspect the property to ensure that no unauthorised persons are using the facilities.

Security:
• Conduct random patrols of the site during the designated time when the site is occupied to ensure customers’ safety and satisfaction.
Asset Management:
• Compile and maintain an Asset register.

Bookings and Customers:
• Provide customer service and ensure that all customers’ requests are note and attended to as matters of priority within guidelines
• Check arrivals, departures and re-bookings in advance.
• Monitor overall site usage
• Enforce the site’s conditions of occupancy.
• Maintain the Customer Register.

Other Duties:
• Office systems and practices are implemented and utilised.
• Standard Operating PROCEDURES (SOP’s) are observed and updated where appropriate.
• New SOP’s and practices, that improve efficiency and effectiveness in administrative services operations and delivery, are developed and implemented.
