About this opportunity

Position Summary
The DollarSmart Volunteer Champion 1:1 will work one-on-one with clients to support and encourage them as they build their financial resilience. The main aims of the role will be to:
• Sensitively but purposefully encourage clients to work towards financial resilience
• Increase clients’ ability and confidence to become financially resilient
• Assist in developing clients’ skills around understanding and managing budgets
• Provide information on accessing financial assistance.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with clients one-to-one at the Centre or offsite to support clients in their efforts to become financially resilient
• Support clients one-to-one during workshops – to complete tasks, review their lifestyles and finances, fill in worksheets, make calculations for budgeting
• Assist clients to interpret and understand financial terminology
• Be available on a regular basis to ensure consistency and continuity of support for individual clients
• Attend professional development opportunities

• Current Blue Card – Volunteer or Paid
• Queensland Driver’s Licence
• All volunteers are required to:
- sign a Confidentiality Agreement
- sign a Code of Conduct
- adhere to Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre’s Policies and Procedures

Time required

Mutually agreed appointment time with Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre client.
