About this opportunity

NAC requires volunteer receptionists to provide a friendly first line of contact to our seniors, people with disabilities, and other community members who utilise our centre.

You will be the first person they encounter when they make contact with the centre so you will need to be friendly, well presented and have good communication skills.

We need you to answer the phone and direct it to the appropriate area within the centre, take bookings for activities and enter them in our computer using Microsoft software, show new members and clients around the centre, and generally be a good advocate for all the services and activities the centre has to offer.

Experience is not required but patience and a willingness to help people find what they need is essential.

The centre is open from 8-4 on weekdays and we are looking for up to 5 receptionists to cover 1-2 days per week each.

Additional requirements

  • National Police Certificate*
Friendly, well presented, good communication, basic computer skills, good phone manner, people person.

As we work with vulnerable members of the community all volunteers require a national police certificate.

Time required

NAC may require volunteers for up to 15 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. Volunteers nominate the hours and days of their availability.
