About this opportunity

The primary areas of responsibility and related duties are:


POLICY, PLANNING & REVIEW

• To ensure the timely development, implementation and review of policies and procedures consistent with the philosophy and Constitution of the organisation and which reflects a high standard of organisational and service accountability

• To ensure the development, implementation and review of strategic plans for the organisation consistent with the philosophy and Constitution of the organisation and in line with service agreements with funding organisations

• To ensure the contribution of staff of the organisation in the development of plans, policies and procedures

• To ensure that young people who access Youth Housing Project are given the opportunity to provide their evaluation of services provided by the organisation



SERVICE DELIVERY

• To develop service agreements in collaboration with staff of Youth Housing Project Association Inc and in liaison with representatives of the funding organisations

• To develop, implement and monitor procedures and activities which ensure the overall responsiveness and efficiency of service delivery consistent with the philosophy of the organisation and service agreements with the funding bodies

• To ensure staff maintain a high quality of service delivery which is responsive to the needs of young people accessing Youth Housing Project


STAFFING

• To develop and implement human resource processes which meet statutory requirements and reflect access and equity principles

• To ensure the development, implementation and review of employment policies and procedures

• To participate in staff recruitment and selection processes

• To ensure that an adequate training budget exists to allow access to training for all staff


FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• To ensure the organisation’s compliance with legal financial requirements, including reporting requirements by funding bodies and statements required under the Associations Incorporated Act and by the Australian Taxation Office.

• To ensure the development and review of policies and procedures that encourages a high standard of financial management and accountability

• To oversee the development and implementation of effective and accountable financial systems for the organisation in collaboration with the Administrator and Manager.

• To oversee the finances and financial accountability of the organisation, including the organisation’s income and expenditure

• To monitor and review financial reports on a monthly basis



ADMINISTRATION

• To ensure that appropriate and effective administrative processes and practices are developed, implemented and maintained in consultation with all staff

• To ensure that Annual General Meetings are held in a timely manner and in accordance with requirements under the Associations Incorporated Act and the Youth Housing Project Association Inc. Constitution

• To manage other businesses of the Association as necessary to fulfil the objects of the Association


GENERAL

• To ensure that the organisation functions effectively and acts at all times in line with the Youth Housing Project Association Inc Constitution and State and Federal legislation

• To attend monthly management committee meetings and special meetings as required

• To maintain an awareness of funding opportunities and oversee the preparation and submission of funding applications

• To oversee decisions regarding funding of the organisation, including budgets

• To liaise and negotiate with funding organisations on behalf of the organisation as necessary, for example in relation to the maintenance of existing funding and its possible enhancement

Members of the Youth Housing Project Management Committee are highly skilled in a range of areas. We are looking for someone with skills in one or some of these areas: Marketing, Human Resource Management, Property Development, Fund Raising.
