Hells Bells Queensland Goalball Championships - Cairns
Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 April 2019.

Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association is a not-for-profit organisation that has been helping Queenslanders with a disability lead active, healthy lives and achieve their sporting dreams since 1977.

We are seeking volunteers to fill various key positions at the Hells Bells: Queensland Goalball Championships 2019, being held in the beautiful city of Cairns.

Come and support this exciting event, have some fun and meet some of the sports top athletes.

Goalball is an exciting Paralympic team sport for athletes with vision impairment and sighted players. Two teams of three blindfolded players throw a bell-ball towards their opponent’s goal, using their body to protect their own goal. The game requires team communication, coordination and strategic skills, and offers many social and physical benefits.

The Hells Bells: Queensland Goalball Championships 2019 will see some of Australia's top goalball players go head to head in a series of matches across two days of intense competition. This event provides excellent sports entertainment while giving you the opportunity to see the action up close while your support helps the event run smoothly.
Competition to be held at the:
• Cairns Basketball Stadium, 289 Aumuller St, Manunda QLD 4870

The following positions are available:
• Goal Judge – training will be provided
• Manual Scorebench Official – training will be provided
• Electronic Scoreboard Assistant – training will be provided
• Ten Second Timer Operator – training will be provided
• Photographer – with own camera Photographer – with own camera

Training: To ensure your volunteer participation is fun and a positive experience, you will be provided skills based training and information for your role.

A Blue Card (Working With Children Check) is a requirement for these volunteers position. The Association will assist all volunteers with their applications and all volunteer applications are free.
