About this opportunity

Over the 2 days of the QMA State Championships, 33 categories of events are conducted for both men and women from 30 years to 100+ years. Whilst some age groups are combined for competition, over 198 individual events are conducted over the two days. There is a Registered Official responsible for the conduct of each event. However assistance is required for Throwing events with manually recording results; pulling through the measuring tape and retrieving implements for hammer, discus, javelin, shot put and weight throws. Long and triple jump events require manual result recorders; pulling through the measuring tape and raking the sand pit. High jump and pole vaulting events need result recorders and assistance with placing the bar at the correct height. Long distance runs and walks need someone to give out water at the water station. Sprints and hurdles need athletes to be marshaled into their lanes and hurdles placed on the track. No volunteer will be asked to undertake an activity which influences the results of an event. Any amount of time a volunteer can give, long or short, will be appreciated. Light refreshments and light lunch will be provided.
