About this opportunity

The Mike Carney Toyota Paluma Push will be held on Sunday 21 July 2019. The event is hosted by the Townsville Rockwheelers Mountain Bike Club and is solely organised by volunteers.

The Paluma Push is a point to point adventure mountain bike race. The ride starts in Paluma Village and winds its way through World Heritage rain forest to Paluma Dam and then down into big timber and open cattle country, finishing at the historic tin mining settlement of Hidden Valley.

The Push started in 2001 as a 42km Marathon and has grown over the past 17 years to include a 70km Race and a 53km Race, all running concurrently on the day and has developed into an iconic mountain bike race and is arguably Queensland’s biggest Mountain Bike event outside of South East Queensland with 750 riders competing.

We require volunteers to be Registration / Sign In Attendants to help on TWO DAYS.

The first will be to work at the Rego Pack Collection Day on Saturday, 20 July at Top Brand Cycles and assist with signing out registration packs.

The second day will be Sunday, 21 July - Race Day - where you will be based in the Start Village. You will assist registration Coordinator with signing riders in before the race and handing out the registration packs. Signing riders in at prior to the race start is very important and key part of the Operation and safety Management Plan to keep account for all riders.
