About this opportunity

The Festival Operational Volunteers will be multi-skilled and capable of lifting and moving tables, chairs and petition booth walls, setting up marquees, directing stall holders, general set-up duties of all areas of festival. Set-up volunteers will be assisting in the aesthetics of the precincts, moving plants, equipment and props, and making the festival come to life!

It’s a great opportunity to work closely with their community, make lifelong friends, and to make a difference to a festival that will go down in Australia’s history.

The Cooktown Expo is a three week event showcasing indigenous arts and culture, history, science, agriculture, marine and environmental expos, workshops, demonstrations, music, song, dance and fabulous food! Additional requirements

  • Driver's Licence (C)
  • Heavy Lifting

Ability to lift up to ten kilos and heavier as a team effort.

Good communication skills will be required and being able to work as part of a large team and independently if need be.

Time required

Rosters will be published with 4 hour shifts to be filled. Volunteers will be required before, during and after the festival
