Domestic Violence Action Centre

To work towards the abolition of violence against women and children whilst supporting and empowering victims/survivors.We understand that domestic violence is a serious social issue that affects many women and children and that is reinforced by the power imbalances inherent in a patriarchal society. From a feminist perspective we believe that women’s personal experiences of domestic violence are connected to the broader social and political forces that oppress and marginalise many groups in society, particularly women and children. We also recognise each individual’s responsibility for their own actions and the need to be accountable for these actions and their consequences. DVAC is committed to challenging these inequities on both social and personal levels as well as ensuring a centre free of discrimination, violence and misuse of power.
