Youth Housing Project Association Inc

The Youth Housing Project Association Inc. (YHP) provides supported, independent, medium term accommodation to young people aged from 16 - 21 years who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Parenting partners up to 25 years of age are also housed on acceptance of a case plan. YHP has been operating since 1987.

The Youth Housing Project is funded through the Department of Housing and Public Works to provide supported accommodation, transitional housing and mobile support services. Properties are provided through the Department of Housing and Public Works through the CAP program, CRS program and Same House Different Landlord program. YHP also has privately rented properties with attached support through their Sponsor a Homeless Young Person Project.

YHP undertakes all tenancy and property management processes according to the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act, so that young people become familiar with these processes when they move on to more permanent accommodation after YHP. A Tenancy Management Worker is employed to manage these duties and works closely with the Housing Support Workers and Manager.
