Disability Action Week will be held from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 September 2017. The theme this year is ‘Everybody has a role to play’, encouraging everyday Queenslanders to make small changes, be more inclusive and create a more welcoming state for people with disabilities.

Volunteering Australia has issued a response to the Department of Social Services discussion paper on the NDIS Code of Conduct. This response provides background on the code for volunteers, volunteer-involving organisations and volunteering support services: the critical infrastructure for safe, effective and sustainable volunteering in Australia.

Volunteering Australia's position paper outlines the Commission’s views on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Costs study. The purpose of the position paper is to seek feedback on the Commission’s preliminary conclusions and draft recommendations, and on any additional issues that should be considered before the public release of the completed study in September 2017.
