The next 11 years will see Brisbane and the rest of Queensland planning for the arrival of the world’s most exciting sporting competition to our doorstep.

A keynote address was given by Étienne Thobois, CEO of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee. Volunteering Queensland asked Étienne how important volunteers will be to the Games and he said “For me, the volunteer program is probably the most important program of the Games. Those are the people that will actually make the heart and soul of your Games. In Sydney, you did a fantastic job in that matter and I’m sure Brisbane will be fantastic too.”

Volunteers play a significant role at each Olympic Games, providing warm hospitality to millions of visitors and trackside support for tens of thousands of athletes and officials. The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be our chance as Queenslanders to take part in the event of a lifetime by volunteering.

Volunteer applications have not yet opened for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics, but if you are inspired to volunteer by the Games there are thousands of available volunteer roles across Queensland. The key advice from Future Brisbane was ‘start now, don’t wait until 2032’ and this is especially true for volunteering.
