SOWN is a community catchment organisation dedicated to restoring the habitats of creeks and waterways across Brisbane’s north and west. Our focus is on the Enoggera, Ithaca and Fish Creek catchments — more than 23 km of waterways that flow into Breakfast Creek. Our work promotes an integrated catchment management approach, targeting priority areas identified through SOWN and Brisbane City Council strategies, and delivered in partnership with other organisations and the wider community. While much of the creek system is now under rehabilitation, there is still significant work to be done — both to expand and connect restored sites, and to maintain them so they don’t become re-infested with invasive weeds.
