One of the many programs PCYC Queensland delivers is the Braking the Cycle program. Braking the Cycle is a learner mentor driving program that aims to provide young people with increased employment opportunities, community connection and road safety education. We support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours. Our Mentors are critical to the success of the program and act as positive adult role models as well as driving supervisors.

Noel Sherrington has been an active volunteer with St John Ambulance Queensland since 1983. His volunteering has spanned frontline event health service delivery, operations coordination, volunteer support, and state-wide policy and training development.
Noel’s contributions have had a profound and lasting impact on both the organisation and the communities St John serves. His efforts during critical moments—like the 2011 floods—ensured timely and compassionate care was provided to Queenslanders in crisis.
