In order to keep our cultural heritage alive we need to educate our children about our past. At the Caboolture Historical Village we have many school excursions where we demonstrate how life used to be over 100 years ago.
We need people who are enthusiastic to pass on the skills of yesteryear, such as blacksmithing, using a printing press, how a dairy used to run, washing using a copper boiler, making butter or soap the old fashioned way, the Queensland Prison system and transport then and now, along with Schools, what and how they taught back then.
If you would like to be part of this valuable legacy for our children, all training will be provided. If you don't already have a Blue Card for working with children, we can help you apply for one.
The Caboolture Historical Village requires all volunteers to meet current Queensland Government health measures (relating to vaccinations and mask wearing). We can help you apply for a Blue Card (working with children) prior to you commencing your volunteer role with us. All training will be provided. Some demonstrators do wear period costume while giving their demonstration.
