As a retail volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Vinnies stores merchandise and sell good quality pre-loved donated clothing, furniture, and household goods. Do you know that as little as 4 hours a week could make a huge impact? Our retail volunteers perform a variety of tasks including: * Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience * Sorting and pricing donations * Assisting with product displays * Processing sales through the point-of-sale cash register * Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices. The volunteers we are seeking will ideally: * Be a people person - welcoming, helpful, friendly, approachable and positive * Demonstrate genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation * Be respectful to others and flexible in their attitude to work and be a part of a team * Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society. No experience is needed as training is provided.
All volunteers must complete an online, free National Police Check before commencing with Vinnies. (All persons are encouraged to apply and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis).
