Anam Cara at Bray Park is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in accompanying and assisting residents on their weekly bus outings. This involves assisting residents as they enter and exit the bus, engaging in conversations, and most importantly, having fun together! Volunteering hours available for this role are Mondays, between 9am to 4pm. These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles! The Bus Outing Volunteer can help residents by: * Engaging and connecting with residents. * Offering assistance to residents as they enter and exit the bus. * Supporting the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator. * Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the activity and resident enjoyment. This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills. Volunteering hours available for this role are Mondays, between 9am and 4pm. Volunteer times are negotiated prior to commencement. This program is located within the Anam Cara Aged Care Community where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship. Security checks required for the position are supplied and paid for by Wesley Mission Queensland. This includes an NDIS Worker Screening Card. If you have ever been a citizen or a permanent resident of a country other than Australia since turning 16 years old you will be required to complete a Statutory Declaration. All applicants will be required to complete an online registration form which will be forwarded to them when their expression of interest is lodged with us. To be in this role you will be required to follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof you have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination prior to commencement. Personal Protective Equipment may also be required.
