Community Meal Prep & Outreach Volunteer with Funky Food

Funky Food is a Brisbane-based social enterprise on a mission to reduce food waste and give back to the community. For every box our customers buy, we reinvest into helping those in need. Every fortnight our team cooks warm, nutritious meals using rescued fresh produce and distributes them to people experiencing homelessness at Kemp Place in Fortitude Valley. We are looking for warm-hearted volunteers to join us either in preparing meals at our Rocklea location or assisting with handing out meals on the ground at Kemp Place. **Key duties:** * Assist with cooking and meal preparation using fresh produce * Pack and organise meals for distribution * Hand out meals to people in need in a friendly, respectful manner * Engage kindly with members of the community * Support the Funky Food team with light setup and pack-down **Skills & experience:** * Friendly, compassionate and reliable * Comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life * Basic food-handling confidence (training provided) * No previous volunteering experience required **Benefits of volunteering with us:** * Be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team * Gain hands-on experience in community outreach * Make meaningful human connections * See the immediate impact of your contribution **Your impact:** Your time helps deliver warm meals, dignity and kindness to people who need it most — creating real, tangible change in our local Brisbane community.
