TRACTION (program of Briswestcare Association Inc) Logo
TRACTION is a contemporary, grassroots charitable program that delivers tangible benefits for young people and their families in the local community through hands-on engagement.

TRACTION provides early intervention options in collaboration with schools, community groups, referral agencies and linkage partners, seeking to primarily re-engage 12-15 year olds who are not achieving their potential in a traditional school environment.

TRACTION seeks to help these young people build confidence, practical, social and life skills, reclaim the joy of learning and contribute positively in the community. TRACTION participants are typically facing a range of personal challenges, including necessitous circumstances, mental health issues, social isolation, behavioural disorders, difficult family or domestic environments.

Programs include:
• Bicycle Build and Maintenance
• Small Engines
• Permaculture
• Boom Box (e-waste recycling, fabrication and electronics)
