MacArthur Museum-Brisbane tells the story of Brisbane during the period from December 1941 until September 1945, looking at what it was like to live in Brisbane during that time. It looks at the austerity measures in place at the time and their impact on Brisbane. It also looks at the impact of large number of Australian and overseas service personnel living around the city.

The war in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) is also a major focus of the Museum.

The Museum is operated entirely by volunteers and is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between 10 am and 3 pm.The Collection Management Group operates on Mondays and Wednesdays.
