About this opportunity

The Caboolture Warplane & Flight Heritage Museum is located next to Caboolture Airfield. Our goal is to help visitors learn about the history of military and civil aviation. Volunteers are essential to keep the museum running, and we've been around for 36 years thanks to their efforts.

We need people who can give personalised guided tours. Besides the aeroplanes you can see in action, there are many displays showing Australia's flight history. As a tour guide, you'll teach visitors about planes used in different wars and share stories from World War II to the Vietnam War. You'll also welcome guests, answer questions, sell items, and make friends with other volunteers. We're happy to have former military members and regular people who can talk to individuals or groups. We offer a training manual and you can follow an experienced guide around. There's no expectation to be undertaking the role straight away, however we're happy if you want to take as long as you need.

Can you volunteer one day a week or more?

Volunteers are required to be reliable, well presented and people friendly. On site training will be given to successful applicants.

Thank you for thinking about the lasting importance of telling both the good and bad parts of history and making the stories of those who gave everything come alive.

Sorry, but we can't consider Workcover applications.
