Canteen Assistant

About this opportunity

Pimlico High's Canteen provides snacks and fresh food lunches for students. We are seeking volunteers in the operation of the canteen to assist with general food preparation duties. There is no cashier or money handling duties required. **Volunteer Qualities** Happy to work as a team in a friendly environment with staff and other volunteers to assist in the preparation of lunches for two break periods. Some light general cleaning (eg washing dishes, wiping counters) **Tasks** Making sandwiches, lavish wraps and hot dogs. Cutting fruit, wrapping items in cling wrap. Stocking warmers with hot foods. Preparing counters with food options and replenishing stock during lunch periods. There is no requirement to have a food handlers certificate, but this would be beneficial. Must have a Blue Card to work with Children. There is NO requirement to work with cash/money handling. **Experience** Our Canteen is a happy and friendly team that is appreciative of any volunteer help and hours. We welcome gents and ladies of all ages to our Canteen. We appreciate our volunteers and there is morning tea and a cuppa on offer daily. We can assist in procuring of a Blue Card if this is not already held. There may be an opportunity for paid casual work.
