The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation supports our community by helping to fund equipment, services and programs as well as staff development, research and scholarships for Darling Downs Health. We are passionate about what we do, and every donation makes a difference to our patients, their families and the staff of our hospitals. That's why we're proud to say that 100% of all donations and funds raised go to where it is needed — caring for you and your loved ones. We are seeking regular volunteers to assist with the transport of patients, visitors and staff to designated areas with the Toowoomba Hospital campus. The ideal volunteer would have the following attributes: * Meet and greet patients and visitors in a friendly, empathetic and helpful manner. * Provide support to Guiding Stars volunteer service when not on the buggy * Maintain cleanliness of golf buggy to comply with infection control measures. * Must be a good communicator with sound reading and writing skills * Ability to work autonomously or within a team * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times * Possess a friendly and outgoing nature * Possess a current "C" class Driver's Licence and have received induction and training prior to operating the golf buggy

Time Required

We are looking for Volunteers who can commit to 4-hour shifts from 8am to 12pm and/or 12pm to 4pm from Monday to Friday. You are not expected to do more than 1-2 shifts per week. No weekends or public holidays and there is a 2-week shutdown over the Christmas and New Year period.

Training

*On-the-job training *Induction and training prior to operating the golf buggy *Relevant WHS training regarding this position and for working around the hospital area
