Families with an ill or injured child can take a break from the clinical environment of the Hospital’s Newborn Care or Paediatric Units in our Family rooms. Family Room Volunteers welcome visitors, help them sign in, maintain the sleeping rooms, ensure a clean, tidy environment and provide a listening ear and friendly smile. RMHC values and promotes an inclusive workplace where everyone, from any background, can feel valued, be appreciated and do their best work. In our programs, everyone regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship or any other aspect that makes them unique can contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families. We encourage all suitable candidates to apply including first nations Australians.
All volunteers must have a Blue Card and a Police Check. RMHC/GCUH can arrange all of this free of charge. Completion of Induction and Orientation required.
* May be arranged by the organisation. Details will be provided after you express your interest.
