HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly clients living in their home 🌿💛. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church 🤝, offering comfort, presence, and hope to those who need it most 🕊️✨. Can you offer a listening ear and a prayerful heart to someone longing to be heard?💛 ***We're seeking a pastoral care volunteer to visit a kind-hearted widower once a fortnight. A strong Christian with a love for meaningful chats, he enjoys discussing his faith, sharing his photography, and showing the travel books and home movies he’s created over the years. Though in good health, he’s feeling the weight of distance from family and would truly value companionship.*** ***Your visits could offer a meaningful space for connection, reflection, and sharing the journey of faith and life.*** You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: * Support people to meet their spiritual needs * Nurture spiritual development ***Skills required for this role:*** - High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. - Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. ***Your impact*** Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. 18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

Time Required

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
