We are seeking mature individuals who are able to commit to: \- Attending a 2\-day in person training course in Brisbane on April 11th & 12th 2026 \- Commit to do a shift on our support line from home once every 3 weeks or so for a minimum of 12 months We aim to reduce the isolation and stigma often associated with alcohol and other drug use. We respect and value the difference between individuals and recognise there is no one 'right' way. Volunteers need to be able to listen without making judgements as well as helping family members and friends find strategies for looking after themselves. You do NOT need to be a counselor or an expert in alcohol or drug use. You do need a reasonably modern mobile phone (less than 6 years old).
We will conduct a National Police Check unless you already can provide a copy of one that is less than 2 years old. There are some ID requirements for us to be able to process a National Police Check if you don't have one already.

Family Services1 shift from home (generally 4 or 5 hours) every 3 weeks for a minimum of 12 months
2-day induction training followed by ongoing support. We also run a National Annual Volunteer Workshop in May that we want volunteers to attend.
