TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services (TELLS) provides leadership, contract management and services to support the delivery of the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program across TAFE Queensland locations.
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs. In Queensland, the AMEP is delivered through TAFE Queensland. The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
You could make a life changing difference to someone by volunteering to tutor them in English. The Volunteer Tutor Scheme matches volunteers to AMEP students who are unable to participate in full-time study at their local TAFE Queensland site. Tutoring helps some students learn practical English skills for basic day-to-day activities, while more advanced students focus on preparation for work or further education.
We need tutors to assist our:
* migrant and refugee students
* adult literacy students
* Indigenous students
* youth
