Queensland Compassionate Services is dedicated to helping and supporting individuals with disabilities, particularly those from our cultural background within the CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) community. As members of the CALD community, we believe the least we can do is support vulnerable community members who are trying to integrate into a new country. We have previously applied for and received (active) a grant from the QLD government (provided personal support and capacity workshops) and spend a lot of time in the CALD and disability services community helping the most vulnerable. We feel it would be enormously beneficial for both the people we encounter within our community and volunteers to connect, provide mutual support, and learn from different cultures. Joining Volunteers Queensland would strengthen our ability to reach and assist those who need it most, whilst fostering cross-cultural understanding and community cohesion.
