About the Role – Hospital Visitor
As a Hospital Visitor, you’ll spend time one-on-one with socially isolated veterans in Greenslopes Private Hospital. A simple chat, a small gesture, or just being there can make a huge difference in someone’s day. You’ll help veterans feel heard, valued, and less alone.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Visit patients and check in for a friendly conversation 🗨️
- Deliver care items like books, magazines, puzzles, or comfort kits 📚🧩
- Listen with empathy and take messages for support if needed
- Bring kindness, warmth, and a calm presence to their room
We’re Looking For Volunteers Who Are:
✅ Friendly, warm, and reliable ✅ Comfortable around elderly or unwell patients ✅ Compassionate and good at active listening ✅ Confident working independently after training

⏱️ 1–3 hours per shift
📅 Flexible weekday shifts – mornings or afternoons

Training
We provide ongoing support and coordinate all volunteer tasks to ensure a smooth experience. Do you have the natural ability to chat with strangers? 💬 We'd love to hear from you!
