Volunteering Queensland is proud to partner with Rio Tinto to act as an intermediary between Rio Tinto employees and organisations needing volunteers.
To date Rio Tinto teams have volunteered their time to support Homeless Connect, and later this month, will be using their culinary skills to make dinner and snacks for families who are staying at Ronald McDonald House so that guests don’t need to think about cooking that day. Future volunteering opportunities include painting fences and yard maintenance, putting together flat packs and preparing homes for families in crisis and working on a farm to harvest produce to be donated to people in need.
Corporate volunteering not only provides valuable support for a volunteering involved organisation it also offers an opportunity for team building and for individuals to experience giving back to the community.
Volunteering Queensland has an ongoing commitment in supporting Rio Tinto with facilitating connections between their workforce and volunteering involved organisations as well as provide a full serviced coordination of team days so that all they need to do is turn up and ready to help.
