About The World’s Biggest Garage Sale (WBGS):

WBGS is a huge garage sale that raises profits for charity in partnership with the Courier Mail Children's Fund, News Corp Australia, National Storage and Cisco just to name a few. It began in 2013 when Yasmin Grigaliunas did a spring-clean and decided to hold a garage sale to sell the family ‘stuff’, then donate the money to a breast cancer charity. She put the call out to her friends to see if anyone else wanted to clean out their homes. Soon there were hundreds of people wanting to do the same thing, many of whom Yasmin had never met. And before she knew it, the World’s Biggest Garage Sale was born.
This annual event has increased ten-fold, with the 2017 event spanning an 11,000 square meter warehouse, and 20,000 buyers attending on the day. This year’s event will be on 17th of November 2018, with the charity beneficiary being the Courier Mail Children’s Fund. Major sponsors include organisations such as Coles, 1800-GOT-JUNK and National Storage along with many others.
