About this opportunity

The Cooktown Expo is a three week event showcasing indigenous arts and culture, history, science, agriculture, marine and environmental expos, workshops, demonstrations, music, song, dance and fabulous food! It’s a great opportunity to work closely with their community, make lifelong friends, and to make a difference to a festival that will go down in Australia’s history.

Positions will be available for people who are passionate about protecting the environment and helping to educate festival participants to dispose of their rubbish in a responsible manner.

Recycling bins will be provided and the Cook Shire Council wants to make sure that the event has minimal rubbish.

Often during the months of July and August when the Cooktown Expo 2020 will take place, it is very windy. Volunteers will be needed to be on guard so that no rubbish accidentally enters the Endeavour River, which is where many of the festival events will take place.
