About this opportunity

There is a group of people with disabilities who would love to learn to make woodwork items they can be proud of. They just need you to show them how.

This role involves assisting adults with disabilities at a Day Respite Centre in a Woodworking Program, making doghouses, cabinets, dolls, toys etc.

Skills required: Ability to interact with people with disabilities in a comfortable manner.
Willingness to learn. Woodworking skills/experience would be preferable but not necessary

Volunteer characteristics: Patient, relaxed, happy disposition

Skills gained: support skills, sense of pride and satisfaction in giving back to the community, learn new skills, meet new people and build friendships, increases employ-ability.
