Volunteering Queensland provided a short submission to the Queensland Government’s proposed reforms to the Blue Card/ Work with Children laws. These suggested changes flow out of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Child Abuse and subsequent inquiries.
The core focus of Volunteering Queensland’s submission was to support the need to maintain the primary goal of protecting children, while creating more consistency around the rules regarding Blue Cards across States and Territories, and to support the removal of any unnecessary bureaucratic barriers to volunteer participation in community activities.
The submission can be found at this here – Blue Card Framework Submission
